Expert within Biopharmaceutical Development
Extensive experience with Biologics
We are looking to identify an expert within biopharmaceutical development, with experience of developing biologics such as monoclonal antibodies and vaccines for a leading drug development organisation. The job holder will work with external customers and operational departments within the business to assist in the flawless execution of biologics studies
The role:
- Review literature and attend conferences to keep abreast of developments in biologics development with respect to company services, with a strong focus on pharmacology / toxicology
- You will understand the way in which biologics therapeutics are being developed and advise the business on any new developments
- Help to develop the organisation in terms of style and content of bid response in the areas of biologics development
- Ensure that strong links are maintained with sales and operational areas in order to keep an integrated approach to biologics development solution provision
- Play a personal and “hands-on” role in advising on specific studies or programmes (with Business Development, Business Services and Programme Management)
- Be an advisor, as required, to our study scientists on assay development “troubleshooting” related matters
- Expand influence beyond non-clinical safety assessment into discovery and clinical areas of the business
- To elevate the scientific standing of the organisation by publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at scientific meetings
- This a senior position, but will have no direct reports but matrix relationship with divisional directors and heads of department in all areas of the business
- Ensure a high level of familiarity with the drug pipelines of key customers, including very frequent face to face contact
- Work with Business Development to ensure new sales leads are progressed and our biologics services promoted
- Help to ensure that the biologics business has a strong external and internal scientific profile, this will include the job holders own participation in industry conferences and events
- Participate in appropriate, biologics focussed, industry bodies where appropriate
The candidate:
- An expert in biologics therapeutic development
- Demonstrated skills in scientific collaborations and good publication record in peer reviewed journals
- Demonstrable experience in managing research projects in an academic or industry environment
- Proficiency in overseeing the design and running of biopharmaceutical development projects
- Strong external and internal scientific credibility
- A proven history of management skills in project delivery
