Are you a Pricing Manager from within the Clinical Research or Toxicology sectors?  Are you ready for a career change with a global leader, running a team in the UK with potential future US expansion?

As the Global Pricing Manager you will work in close co-operation with Operations groups, the Commercial team and Finance to ensure that costs are respected in the pricing strategies and policies both independently and together with Sales and Proposal teams to ensure that all relevant competitor, client and bid data is gathered, organised, analysed and put to efficient use.


  • Developing pricing options in conjunction with the customer strategies based on internal costing from Operations/Commercial team and external price monitoring
  • Developing, growing and maintaining operational and finance department relationships and collaboration, ensuring seamless flow of information between Sales and Operations
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the company and its services
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the markets in which we operate
  • Interpreting study related paperwork and assesses impact on prices
  • Escalating pricing requests as appropriate and involving operational areas for additional information on technical aspects which may have pricing implications
  • Playing a personal role in advising on specific enquiries or dealing with specific issues or customers
  • Reviewing all Final Protocols, Protocol Amendments, File Notes and Time plans to identify pricing implications and produce the associated Additional Work Notices (AWN’s) so that operation areas get paid for the work they have performed.  Ensuring that an un-issued quotes  report is circulated to Proposals and oversight teams on a monthly basis
  • Annual Maintenance of Black Books pricing and price build-up database
  • Attending and contributing to sales, team and departmental meetings as required
  • Participating in developing, testing and evaluating costing systems as required
  • Training, Coaching and mentoring members of Proposals, Sales Managers and Program Managers as necessary
  • Development of junior personnel to act in higher level pricing capacities
  • Ability to manage a team to ensure completion of work in a high quality manner
  • Informing and advising senior management of all key issues relating to the department
  • Acting as a point of contact for external and internal customers for interactions related to pricing
  • Involved in developing and maintaining relationships with strategic accounts
  • Involvement in specific Global bids as required
  • Having a high level of awareness of Business Development interactions with customers
  • Demonstrating an understanding of how and where the Pricing team fits into the company and of how it’s systems and processes work

Job Requirements:

  • Commercial and financial awareness, an understanding of the revenue recognition process
  • Good knowledge of the market regards to the economic forces, price setting and modelling
  • Experience of business change and operational improvements
  • Business analysis skills
  • Pricing strategies and options development and modelling
  • Experience working in pricing for a CRO or very similar setting
  • A thorough understanding of toxicology study design preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory guidelines preferred
  • CRO specific market knowledge preferred
  • Customer and competitor knowledge, particularly pricing
  • IT skills for business, particularly Excel and price modelling and library development
  • Problem solving, ability to discuss options and solutions to pricing issues
  • Experience of working in an operational area within a CRO
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a business or science subject
  • Driven to learn, succeed and deliver
  • Ability to travel globally 15% of the time
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
