As a leading organisation within the Toxicology and Pre-Clinical sector, our client is looking to identify a senior figure within Toxicology to lead their operations in Spain (Barcelona).  This role with be a matrix management role with responsibility for the Toxicology operations at the site. 

We are looking to identify a senior leader, with strong management skills, coupled with the technical background required for the Head of Toxicology role.

The role:

  • The Head of Toxicology will provide leadership and direction to the Toxicology and Safety division
  • You will have line management of Pharmacology Study Directors and Veterinarians, via local management and supervisory teams to ensure a high quality standard of work
  • Meet Sponsor requirements in a timely manner and deliver planned operational performance.
  • Day to day operational issues and high level management reporting.
  • Regular interface with key and new customers.
  • Responsible for the review of study plans, study reports and SOP’s.
  • Line management responsibility for Managers and Study Directors, Technicicans and Associated staff.
  • Work closely with customers to ensure repeat business and provided a
    centre of expertise in relevant areas of work for the company.

 

The person:

 

  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to inspire and engage others.
  • Extensive experience in running pre-clinical toxicology studies.
  • Excellent communication skills – spoken and written skills in Spanish and also English language.
  • An understanding of the regulatory environment and enough scientific background in which the site works.
  • BSc. or higher in science or related subject. 
  • Expert commercial & financial awareness.
