Zest Scientific is looking to identify an experienced Vendor Manager for a global Pharmaceutical organisation. This key role requires a skilled clinical operations professional with proven line management experience.

As the Local Vendor Manager, you will be accountable for oversight and management of UK vendors ensuring delivery of clinical operations services according to the service agreements in place. Your role is integral in the Country Clinical Operations Functional Service Provider (FSP) Operating model as the CCO UK Lead for this critical model with one major CRO partner. This role is accountable for the successful delivery of an effective and efficient relationship with all CRO partners and UK vendors involved in delivery of our UK clinical trials.
Your strong communication skills will enable you to provide vendors with the projected needs of the country requirements. You will ensure that local contract research organisation (CRO) staff are receiving sufficient coaching and direction from vendor Line Managers and ensure that they represent our client appropriately, with full engagement, at study sites.
Your ability to inspire and influence allows you to create effective relationships, both internal and external, ensuring that you are able to act as the single point of contact for all vendor management issues. You are able to facilitate and lead both internal and external staff in productive discussions, acting as an impartial party where needed to ensure quality, compliance and delivery.
Your ability to collaborate and work in a team will enable you to assist the local vendor during the selection process for local CRO staff to ensure the availability of staff with optimal skills and competencies to meet company requirements.
As a Local Vendor Manager, you are keen to set and deliver the strategy for outsourced work through the specification, identification, selection & operational management of external service providers.
Using your passion to achieve results, you will be reviewing and analysing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics against benchmarks for local vendors and their staff, working with a variety of roles to lead corrective and preventive measures to improve performance.
Your previous experience of working with procurement and collaborating with CROs will enable you to help implement service agreements and contracts, as well as periodically review provisions with internal stakeholders and suggest improvements as needed.
You will require a University degree or equivalent, preferably in a medical/science related field. You will need to have extensive experience within the Clinical Research/Development industry. Previous line management experience and/or supervision of staff are essential for this position.
Your proven project management and organisational skills coupled with your ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks with high flexibility will be invaluable to you in this position.
